Experiences with Virginia Adult Protective Services

The Virginia Adult Protective Services refused to accept reports of caregiver abuse because the victim was "too young" and "capable of acting independently" despite their need for a healthcare worker to be by their side to submit the complaint a year after the abuse started.

The Virginia Human Rights Committees used this as an excuse to pardon New River Valley Community Service's failure to report the caregiver abuse a year before it was reported to Adult Protective Services.
