Crisis Help Lines use scripted material to entrap callers into mental health services by asking discriminatory questions and referring them to organizations like New River Valley Community Services who then violate their rights.

They will not have a conversation with you like a normal human being. They will ask, "are you having or have you had suicidal thoughts recently", in an effort to entrap and detain you.

It's discriminatory to ask anyone without reason: "are you having or have you had suicidal thoughts recently" simply because they're believed to be "mentally ill" or are calling out for help. It should be considered a strength to ask for help but instead these services punish anyone that does.
